Dear Summer Festival NYC 2025

The multi-city Dear Summer Festival kicks off in Brooklyn on June 21, headlined by Meek Mill.

The “Dreams and Nightmares” hitmaker’s headlining performance displays the HBCU-Grads built festival’s growing success. Co-headlining the festival is dancehall star Valiant.

More than a music event, Dear Summer Festival is a tribute to Black excellence and community. It draws HBCU graduates, artists, and professionals to cities where culture moves the needle.

Each stop blends sound, flavor, and fellowship—connecting people through a deep sense of belonging. DJs spin, local chefs serve up favorites, and conversations spark between generations shaped by the HBCU experience.

Dear Summer Festival” Formerly “Dear Summer BBQ” was founded by alumni of prestigious Historically Black Colleges & Universities’ (HBCU) Virginia State University & Delaware State University. The event started out as a BBQ in Harlem amongst a few friends from various states who wanted to come together annually. It has since transformed into a “Summer Homecoming” that brings together HBCU alumni, Greek organizations, creatives, entertainers, & influencers nationwide.

Whether kicking off the season, or saying goodbye, Dear Summer Festival is an event to network, fellowship & genuinely have a great time. “Dear Summer Festival” is an experience that encompasses all aspects of what the everyday person imagines when the weather is warm! It is where amazing food, people, and performances all blossom under one roof.
