REVIEW

BASED ON THE LIFE OF”PEARL BAILEY”
KUMBLE THEATER
NEW YORK
(PEARL) JENNIE HARNEY
MAY 4TH 2013
 ‘ Exciting & Explosive
The dancing- the acting- the band – and the costumes were well put together.  The backdrop and the video screen was one of the most important things of this play.  the video screen gave you the sense of time being there with the famous people, and the famous places where they performed from the Chitlin Circuit to Broadway. I felt like I was back in the 1940’s  The play was very energetic the music and singing kept your attention from beginning to end ~Great Choreography ~~ full with excitement and very educational throughout the whole play. It showed the struggles Pearl Bailey went threw in  her life, the difficulties , having real love, trying to find real love and the racism that she faced
Pearl Bailey, extremely powerful woman, very tough woman throughout her trails and tribulations through her difficulties she still managed to overcome and to persevere she kept going, This showed her true testament of her character that she is a very strong and powerful woman. She never gave up on her dreams not only as a performer but a wife a mother and a true pioneer  for the civil rights movement. She was powerful in every aspect of her life.
JENNIE HARNEY did an excellent job over painting the picture  as Pearl Bailey. Jennie’s performance was very powerful.  It was very energetic. Jennie Harney depicted each and every talent she had and stretched it as much as possible to show who Pearl Bailey was. Jennie Harney really went into the caraterd and did a GREAT job a Great performance with a lovely Singing voice.
The perfect choice for tho part as Pearl Bailey  – Jennie Harney
